Bush Theatre - script submissions window open until 10 January

London's Bush Theatre, which has a decades-long history of supporting and developing new writers, will be accepting script submissions until 10 January.

During the submissions window UK- or Ireland-based playwrights not represented by an agent may offer scripts for full-length plays with a minimum running time of 60 minutes.

From these, two writers will be selected to join the Bush Theatre’s Emerging Writers’ Group, and the theatre’s literary team will meet with a further 25 to respond to their work with another 100 applicants receiving feedback via e-mail.

Bush Theatre literary manager Deirdre O’Halloran said, "open submissions has become our most exciting way to get to know new talent, bringing us eight members of our Emerging Writers Group, two of our commissioned writers and even a production over the last two years. I can’t wait to meet the brilliant writers who come through this year!"

Those whose careers have been launched by support from Bush Theatre include Ambreen Razia, writer of The Diary of a Hounslow Girl, and Ella Road, writer of The Phlebotomist.
