Equity invites NE students to a symposium on building a theatre career.
Held at Live Theatre in Newcastle from 5:30 to 9:00 on 17 January, THRIVE – Building a career in the North East and beyond will enable those who attend to gain the tools they will need to launch their careers. Equity activists, performers and officers will lead workshops throughout the evening to offer practical advice and essential information.
You will learn about your employment rights, including information on equalities, pay, overtime, bullying and harassment. You'll also learn about what the union does, and how you can get involved, as well as top tips for freelance life.
After the workshops, there’ll be a panel Q&A with representatives from Live Theatre, Northern Stage, Alphabetti Theatre & other industry experts, on 'creating a meaningful career in the North East'.
Afterwards there will be an opportunity to network with fellow creatives over drinks.
