Dateline: 20th April, 2005 New Executive Director at CandoCo CandoCo confirms the appointment of a new Executive Director, to take the company forward at what is a challenging and exciting time. Lauren Scholey will be working in partnership with the Artistic Director, playing a key role in setting strategy and delivering the company's mission. Leaving a successful freelance career working widely across the dance sector to join CandoCo, Lauren has also previously worked for Arts Council England and East London Dance in the independent dance sector, with a particular specialism in the social inclusion, youth and integrated dance sectors. Lauren's experience will make a huge contribution to the company, as it move towards its fifteenth Anniversary in 2006. Her appointment, alongside the recent announcement of a 22% increase in the Company's Arts Council grant, gives CandoCo reason to celebrate and look forward to continued success as a flagship company for integrated dance. Celeste Dandeker (Artistic Director) said, "It's fantastic news that Lauren will be joining us. She has always been tremendously supportive of the work of the company and truly understands and advocates the company mission of 'broadening the perception of what dance is.' She will be an asset to CandoCo." Leaving the post after ten years at the helm of CandoCo, Dawn Prentice, outgoing Executive Director, will be pursuing a freelance career. CandoCo would like to thank her for the tremendous contribution she has made to the company, which simply would not be in the position it is without her.
