Callum Francis, Kayi Ushe, Paula Lane and Joel Harper-Jackson head the cast of Kinky Boots which starts a UK tour in Northampton in September 2018.
Francis reprises the role of Lola which he played on the Australian tour of Kinky Boots for which he won the 2017 Helpmann Award for best male actor in a musical. He joins the tour until 15 December, with Ushe taking over for the rest of the dates.
Lane, known for playing Kylie Platt in Coronation Street, is Lauren and Joel Harper-Jackson will play Charlie.
Also joining the cast are Demitri Lampra (Don), Adam Price (George), Helen Ternent (Nicola), Charlie Allen, Nicola Avino, Lizzie Bea, Connor Collins, Daniel Conway, Shaun Dalton, John Dempsey, Niki Evans, Mary Fox, Scarlet Gabriel, Damon Gould, George Grayson, Portia Harry, Joshua Lovell, Jacob McIntosh, Chileshe Mondelle, Alfie Parker, Joshua St Clair, Fred Smiley, Toyan Thomas-Browne, Andy Watkins and Jason Winter.
Inspired by true events, Kinky Boots takes audiences from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Jerry Mitchell is director and choreographer. Book is by Harvey Fierstein and composer and lyricist is Cyndi Lauper.
Kinky Boots opens at Royal and Derngate, Northampton from Wednesday 19 September until Saturday 6 October.
It then tours to Wolverhampton Grand, Theatre Royal Newcastle, Manchester Opera House, Edinburgh Playhouse, Marlowe Theatre Canterbury, Regent Theatre Stoke, Venue Cymru Llandudno, New Theatre Oxford, Bristol Hippodrome, Birmingham Hippodrome, Liverpool Empire, Leeds Grand, His Majesty’s Theatre Aberdeen, King’s Theatre, Glasgow, Theatre Royal Nottingham, Lyceum Theatre Sheffield, Sunderland Empire, Theatre Royal Plymouth, Wales Millennium Centre Cardiff and Mayflower Theatre Southampton until 14 September 2109.
