Casting Update - and a Rumour

The cast for the National Theatre's production of James Joyce's Exiles (opening 2nd August, previews from 26th July)) will be Adrian Dunbar, Dervla Kirwan, Peter McDonald and Marcella Plunkett. James MacDonald directs.

At the Donmar Warehouse, Elliot Cowan, Amerjit Deu, Corey Johnson, Lydia Leonard, Vincent Marzello, Kate Roscoe, Kerry Shale and Rufus Wright join Michael Sheen and Frank Langellaunder the direction of Michael Grandage in Frost/Nixon. The production begins previews on 10th August, opens on 15th and runs until 7th October.

At the Theatre Royal Bath, Richard Coyle has been cast as Jimmy Porter in Peter Gill's production of Look Back in Anger, the final production in the Peter Hall season. Opening on 16th August and running to 2nd September, the production is deigned by William Dudley. No othe rcasting has yet been announed.

Finally it is rumoured - according to a story in the Daily Mail - that Maggie Smith may return to the West End in Edward Albee’s The Lady from Dubuque, which will open at an as yet unnamed theatre in March 2007. Negitiations conitnue, the Mail says, and it is hoped that Anhtony Page will direct. No theatre or other details are available.
