Casting News Former Dr Who Peter Davison is to replace Simon Russell Beale as King Arthur in Spamalot from 23rd July. Also joining him in the cast will be Bill Ward (Coronation Street), taking over from Tom Goodman-Hill as Lancelot. The rest of the cast is unchanged. Mel Smith will play Wilbur, the "husband" of Edna Turnblad (Michael Ball), in the West End production of Hairspray, which opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre on 30th October from 11th). In the new musical Desperately Seeking Susan, based on the film which starred Madonna and Rosanna Arquette and featuring the music of Blondie, the part of Susan will be played by Emma Williams and Roberta by Kelly Price. The production opens at the Novello on 15th November (previews from 12th October).
