The winners of the 2002 Critics' Circle Awards wre announced todat:

  • Best Play - Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones (RNT and Gielgud)
  • Best Musical - Kiss Me, Kate at the Victoria Palace
  • Best Actor - Ian McDiarmid for Faith Healer (Almeida)
  • Best Actress - Lindsay Duncan for Mouth to Mouth (Royal Court and Albery) and Private Lives (Albery)
  • The John and Wendy Trewin Award for Best Shakespearean Performance - Samuel West for Hamlet (RSC)
  • Best Director - Robert Lepage for The Far Side of the Moon (RNT)
  • Best Designer - Paul Brown for Platonov (Almeida)
  • Most Promising Playwright - Gregory Burke for Gagarin Way (Traverse, Edinburgh, RNT and Arts)
  • The Jack Tinker Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Lyndsey Marshall for Redundant (Royal Court) and Boston Marriage (Donmar and New Ambassadors)
