Chicago to Re-open in the West End The long-running musical Chicago, which closed at the Cambridge Theatre on 27th August, is to return to the West End on 7th November when it re-opens at the Garrick. During its 5-year run at the Cambridge, Chicago played to over 2 million people and became the longest running revival ever. The show opened at the Adelphi Theatre on 18th November 1997 and immediately became a sell-out hit. It won the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production as well as the 1998 Critics Circle Drama Award for Best Musical. It transferred from the Adelphi Theatre to the Cambridge Theatre in April 2006. It uis currently booking until 26th January, 2013. Casting for the production - and for the tour to Bradford, Hull, Manchester, Sunderland and Edinburgh next year - has yet to be announced.
