Chickenshed Children's Theatre Bursary Lord Richard Attenborough announced The Lord Attenborough Chickenshed Childrens Theatre Bursary Fund at a Gala Event held at The Guildhall in London last night Monday 29th October. This unique bursary fund will provide scholarships for young people to attend theatre workshops and so ensure that Chickenshed can continue to make world class theatre that opens the minds and empowers all individuals. Guests attending the Gala event hosted by Chickensheds President, The Lady Rayne, included Victoria Wood, Rory Bremner, Shirley Bassey, Simon Callow and newsreaders Mary Nightingale and Katie Derham. The evening began with a champagne reception followed by a performance by members of Chickenshed. The cast's costumes were previously worn by Kylie Minogue during her fabulous Showgirl World tour and have been donated to Chickenshed by Kylie and her best friend and stylist William Baker. There wase a three course sumptuous dinner interspersed with an auction of money cant buy opportunities conducted by Sothebys auctioneer Lord Harry Dalmeny. The prizes include a private tour of the West Wing at The White House in Washington, an invitation to the BAFTAs and the exclusive after-show party including a day behind the scenes of Director Anthony Minghellas next film project, tickets to Paris Fashion Week, and the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini and tickets to televisions Top Gear. For the past 34 years Chickenshed has prided itself on being for anyone and everyone - The Gala, together with the creation of The Lord Attenborough Chickenshed Childrens Theatre Bursary Fund, will ensure that this continues.
