Chicago Extends (Again) as Ying Tong Closes Chicago (Adelphi) has extended to 3rd December, 2005. It opened on 18th November, 1997 (previews from 27th October). Ying Tong, Roy Smiles' play about Spike Milligan at the New Ambassadors, has a posted early closing notices. The show will now close on 19th March: it was booking to 4th June. Subtitled A Walk With the Goons and produced by the West Yorkshire Playhouse, it is the first play in Smiles' projected Dead Comedians trilogy. It opened five weeks ago to good reviews and it was surely to be expected that fans of the The Goon Show would attend in their thousands. However this has not happened and the show will close two months early.
