New Writing in South Shields

South Shields' Customs House, a theatre on the banks of the River Tyne, has gained a reputation for new locally-based writing. Included in its spring 2003 season are:

Dirty Dusting by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood
Comedy
5th to 8th February

Fool's Day by Alex Ferguson
"A sad, quirky comedy about old age"
12th to 15th February

Silas Marner by Rosemary Bailey, with additional material by Chris Elphinstone & music by Pater Panico and Barry Robinson
Musical based on the novel by George Eliot
26th February to 1st March

Dan Dare - the Musical by Tom Kelly with music by John Miles
10th to 22nd March
