Jerwood Circus Awards

The Circus Space, Britain’s premier circus training organisation, and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation are pleased to announce their collaboration for a third year of the Jerwood Circus Awards.

This year the awards have been increased with one award of £10,000 and two of £7,000 being available.

Recognising the need for innovation, creation and excellence, The Jerwood Circus Awards give talented circus artists the opportunity and time to develop innovative performance projects which will premiere at The Circus pace as part of its Springboard Season 2004. The Jerwood Circus Awards are open to the circus profession as a whole and are conceived both to celebrate emerging talent and reward ongoing artistic excellence.

Applications are welcomed from established and emerging circus performers, directors and creative producers who are resident in the UK.In addition to the awards, The Circus Space will seek to facilitate
mentoring opportunities for the winners, pairing them with experienced practitioners from the performing arts industries to help them develop their work. Access to equipment and some space for rehearsal will also be available.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 5th September 2003 and the successful applicants will be announced at The Circus Space on Wednesday 15th October 2003.
