Arresting performance: Graham Cole will play Fleshcreep

Graham Cole has been detained by Wolverhampton Grand to play the henchman Fleshcreep in its 2017 panto Jack and the Beanstalk.

Cole is best known as PC Tony Stamp, a role he played in the ITV serial drama The Bill for more than 25 years.

Since leaving the programme when it ended in 2009, he has made numerous stage appearances, playing the lead in Scrooge at Lichfield Garrick in 2012 and General Waverley in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh in 2013 and at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End in 2014.

Cole said, “having played one of the good guys for so many years I’m really looking forward to playing a real baddie for once, and what better way to spend Christmas than to terrify Wolverhampton audiences working for the giant Blunderbore.”

As previously announced, Gareth Gates will play Jack, Lisa Riley will be the fairy and the cast also includes Ian Adams, Adam C Booth and Doreen Tipton.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs at the Grand from Saturday 9 December 2017 until Sunday 14 January 2018.
