London's Albany and ARC Stockton Arts Centre are joining forces to offer their audiences two new Christmas shows.

Providing two commissions of £40,000 each, together with in–kind support, the resulting shows will play each up to 50 performances in each venue alternating the 2017 and 2018 Christmas seasons.

The shows should have a target audience of children aged three to seven and appeal to both South East London and the North East family audiences.

Annabel Turpin, Chief Executive at ARC, Stockton Arts Centre, said, "we’re looking for companies who can bring a contemporary approach—taking familiar titles or a seasonal theme and use them to create something that reflects modern British audiences.

"By commissioning new work for our performance spaces, we hope to create shows which will provide exceptional first experiences of theatre for children and families."
