Compass on Tour Compass Theatre Company will undertake a six-week national tour this autumn with a triple bill of three short comedies known collectively as Pinter and a Pair of Chekhov's Shorts. The group will perform Pinter's The Dumb Waiter along with The Evils of Tobacco and The Proposal in new versions by Neil Sissons. Sissons, Compass' artistic director who will be directing his 59th production for the company, will also design and light the show. Pinter and a Pair of Chekhov's Shorts opens at the Theatre Royal, Lincoln, on October 30th and visits 23 other theatres. The tour goes to Lincoln, Halifax, Ludlow, Derby, Sheffield, Wimborne, Swindon, Aberystwyth, Newtown, Nottingham, Whitehaven, Kendal, Barrow-in-Furness, Hexham, Middlesbrough, Bishop's Stortford, Leighton Buzzard, Chesterfield, Richmond, Canterbury, Chelmsford, Haverhill, Oundle and Cleethorpes.
