Leading theatre company Frantic Assembly has been commissioned to develop a new work which will be shown in Corby, Northamptonshire in July 2015.

The company will collaborate with professional and non-professional artists to deliver performances at The Core at Corby Cube on 9 and 10 July.

The work has been commissioned by Made in Corby which aims to get Corby’s communities involved in producing new arts activities in the town. It will be Made in Corby’s second Big Night Out commission in a three-year programme.

Frantic Assembly is led by co-founder and artistic director Scott Graham, who was raised in Corby. The company completed a national tour in 2014 of their version of Shakespeare’s Othello and is responsible for movement in the National Theatre’s production The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Graham said, “I believe passionately in a theatre that can tell the stories of real people by real people. It means a lot to myself and co-director (fellow Corby boy) Neill Bettles to be able to come back and work with an exciting community of professional and local amateur performers on the creation of this show.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to celebrate the creativity, passion and humour of the town we grew up in.”
