Northamptonshire venue The Core at Corby Cube is trying to raise £35,000 to upgrade its sound and lighting equipment.
Arts Council England has already pledged to give a one-off grant of £200,000 to the project which will mean The Core will not have to hire as much equipment and can invest more in its shows.
Peter Knott, Arts Council England’s area director, said, “in the current economic climate it’s important for arts venues to be as sustainable as possible, so I’m pleased we’re able to support The Core to buy new equipment to reduce long-term costs and increase opportunities for generating income.”
