Les Dennis and Connor McIntyre, who worked together on Coronation Street, will swap the cobbles for clutch bags as the Ugly Sisters in Nottingham Theatre Royal’s 2019 panto Cinderella.

Dennis joined the ITV soap as Michael Rodwell, a petty criminal who met his demise at the hands of McIntyre, who played Pat Phelan. He established a reputation as the ultimate soap baddie.

Gareth Gates will play Prince Charming while Richard Cadell and Sooty will appear as Buttons. Jack McNeil, who took the lead role in the Theatre Royal’s 2018 panto Peter Pan, will play Dandini and Hannah Grace Lawson will make her panto debut as Cinderella.

Peter Ireson, venue director at the Theatre Royal Nottingham, said, “our annual pantomime is such an institution and Cinderella is one of the most magical pantos of them all. This incredibly talented cast will bring something extra special to our panto audiences this year.”

Cinderella will run from Saturday 30 November until Sunday 5 January 2020.
