Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre has announced its programme for spring and summer 2021, with highlights including West End hits SIX and Groan Ups and the new thriller from Peter James, Looking Good Dead.

The musical SIX, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’s show about Henry VIII’s wives, checks into the Belgrade from Monday 19 until Saturday 24 April. It was originally due to visit Coventry in summer 2020.

Mischief Theatre, producer of The Play That Goes Wrong, returns to Coventry with Groan Ups, a show which asks whether any of us ever really grows up. It will run from Monday 26 April until Saturday 1 May.

EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt will play Tom Bryce, a witness to a murder who finds himself in danger after reporting the crime to the police, in Peter James’s Looking Good Dead. The play, which also features James’s detective Roy Grace, tours to the Belgrade from 10 until 15 May.

Another rescheduled show is the tongue-in-cheek Friends parody Friendsical which will run from 26 until 30 May.

Tom Chambers will take the role of charismatic and manipulative ex-tennis pro Tony Wendice and Sally Bretton plays his wife Margot in Dial M for Murder, a new production of Frederick Knott’s thriller, from 8 until 12 June.

Shakespeare innovators Oddsocks returns to Coventry with its “unique” spin on The Comedy of Errors from Tuesday 15 until Thursday 17 June.

The full programme is available at the Belgrade web site.
