Dateline: 4th May, 2003 New Creative Studies Course The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at the University of Sussex is launching a brand new part-time BA in Creative Studies. This innovative degree, which is unique in the region, is for all those interested in the arts - professional and aspiring practitioners, and anyone who wants to deepen their appreciation and understanding of art works by reflecting on the creative process. Options courses include creative writing, film studies, music, opera, literature, art history and arts & cultural management. Core courses engage with contemporary culture and promote an understanding of creativity and its meanings in various artistic and historical settings. The culmination of the BA is an independent study, during which those engaged in the practice of the arts may include reflection on their own work. Graduates will have developed skills of analysis, synthesis, interpretation and communication and will be especially well equipped for work in the creative, media and arts sectors. CCEs open entry policy, flexible progress arrangements, and specially-timetabled classes are designed to encourage adults to attend their local University and allow them to organise their part-time studies to fit in with their lives. For further information contact CCE. Tel: 01273 678040,
