Cries from the Heart Cries from the Heart is a celebration of voices for justice. For one night only, a star-studded cast will come together at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London, in support of Human Rights Watch. Among the performers writer David Hare has assembled to take part are: actors Sinead Cusack, Judi Dench, Thandie Newton, Sophie Okonedo, Diana Quick, Mark Rylance, Juliet Stevenson and Trudie Styler; poets Linton Kwesi Johnson, Andrew Motion, Lemn Sissay and the Poetry Slambasssadors; and journalists George Alagiah, Fergal Keane and Rageh Omar. This collection of artists will perform drama, music and poetry as well as real-life testimonials from those who have fought for and achieved justice.
Human Rights Watch is dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world. Working with activists and victims of human rights abuses, in over 70 countries, through rigorous investigation, analysis and advocacy it uses persistent political pressure on governments to uphold freedoms, prevent discrimination and bring offenders to justice.
