Criterion Playing the Games to première new plays in afternoons

Playing the GamesLondon's Criterion Theatre will present Playing the Games in July and August featuring theatre premières alongside interviews with leading Olympians and other performances.

In the "Afternoon Plays" series, two world premières will be presented, both set against the backdrop of the London 2012 Olympics: Serge Cartwright's After the Party directed by Criterion producer Sam Hodges and Adam Brace's Taking Part.

There will be interviews with renowned sportsmen each lunchtime including 4x400 metre relay silver medallist Kriss Akabussi interviewed by by television presenter Rick Edwards, 400 metre hurdle gold medallist Edwin Moses interviewed by Stephen Fry and 10,000 metre gold medallist Haile Gebrseselassie.

There will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening performances from comedians and musicians including Alan Davies and Mark Watson.
