Leicester’s Curve has formed a partnership with Remploy, Britain's largest employer of people with disabilities, to fund three performances of an autism spectrum condition (ASC) production.

Bamboozle Theatre Company’s Moon Song will be performed in Curve’s Studio at no cost to the audience on Monday 1 February. The idea is to offer help to young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who are making the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Moon Song is designed to accommodate the wide range of abilities within the autistic spectrum through Bamboozle’s trademark interactive style.

Curve’s chief executive Chris Stafford said, “it’s really important to us that Curve is renowned as a theatre where everyone can engage with the arts and we look forward to welcoming special needs schools and SEND practitioners from across Leicester to these performances.”

Beth Carruthers, Remploy’s chief executive, added, “I’m delighted that we’re sponsoring these performances because it’s important that we support and encourage young people in education to prepare and indeed look forward to moving into employment.

“We work with schools, local organisations and the government to inspire young people to get a job which can have a transformational impact on their lives.”
