Leicester’s Curve is to host the UK première of On Your Feet!, the story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, in 2019 before it transfers to London Coliseum.
Curve’s chief executive Chris Stafford and artistic director Nikolai Foster said, “we’re thrilled to be presenting On Your Feet! at Curve next year. This Tony Award-nominated Broadway production has already delighted audiences around the world.
“When we first saw the production in New York, we knew Leicester audiences would fall in love with Gloria’s extraordinary story of triumph over adversity and enjoy hearing Miami Sound Machine classics in this fantastic production.”
Gloria Estefan has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and is the most successful Latin crossover performer in the history of pop music. Emilio Estefan is a founding member of the Miami Sound Machine who created a new Latin crossover sound, fusing Cuban rhythms with American pop and disco.
On Your Feet! ran on Broadway for two years. It is currently on a two-year US tour while a production in Holland continues until August.
It will play at Curve from Monday 3 until Saturday 8 June 2019 before moving to London’s Coliseum from Friday 14 June until Saturday 31 August.
