Dateline: 20th November, 2005
From Thursday 17th November to Sunday 4th December, new production company Dangerous Dave Productions will be staging their first theatrical venture, Anthony Neilson's farce The Lying Kind at The Clerkenwell Theatre, Exmouth Market. Dangerous Dave Productions is the brainchild of David Alfred, a popular London cabbie who fulfilled a lifetime's ambition last year and trained as an actor with The Actors Company. Born and bred an East Londoner David, who has been a black cab driver for twenty years, is now venturing into the field of producing, funding and, in the case of The Lying Kind, directing new projects. David has assembled a brilliant cast, with newcomer Emily Woodward, daughter of Michele Dotrice and Equaliser star Edward Woodward, taking the pivotal role of Carol, a foul mouthed teenager caught up in the Christmas Eve debacle. The Lying Kind was first performed at The Royal Court and is a darkly hilarious play about life, death and chronic misunderstanding. The Christmas setting makes it a perfectly timed first play for Dangerous Dave Productions, and the profit made from this production will be ploughed straight back into two more plays planned for next February. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
