Actor and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Danny Mac will join the UK tour of Amélie the Musical, based on the Oscar-nominated film, as daydreamer Nino Quincampoix from 22 May 2019, joining French-Canadian actor Audrey Brisson who will play Amélie Poulain. Nino will be played by Chris Jared at the Watermill Theatre during April and May.

Amélie is the story of a young woman who "lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind". She improvises small acts of kindness, but when a chance of love comes her way, Amélie realises that she will have to risk everything and say what's in her heart.

The full cast includes Oliver Grant as Lucien / Mysterious Man, Samuel Morgan-Grahame as Joseph, Sioned Saunders as Gina, Johnson Willis as Collignon / Dufayel, Caolan McCarthy as Hippolito / Elton John, Faoileann Cunningham as Georgette / Sylvia, Kate Robson-Stuart as Suzanne, Josh Sneesby as Blind Beggar / Gnome, Jaz Unwin as Raphael / Bretodeau and Rachel Dawson as Andamine / Philomene.

This new musical adaptation of the film, which was written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant, will be directed by Michael Fentiman with music by Daniel Messé, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and Daniel Messé and book by Craig Lucas.

When the UK tour concludes in September 2019, Amélie the Musical will tour internationally with dates to be announced.
