Thomas Pickles, who won the inaugural Adrian Pagan Award for his play Dead Party Animals, is to star in its first production.
The poetic, sambuca-swilling monologue told by a young man falling in and out of clubs and love won the award from a shortlist of five plays judged by a panel including Young Vic Artistic Director David Lan, playwright Mark Ravenhill and director Mike Bradwell.
The world première of Dead Party Animals is directed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher and starts previewing on 29 April.
Dead Party Animals plays The Hope Theatre Islington.
