Headlong Investigates the Legacy of 9/11

Booking opens today for Decade, a site-specific production directed by Headlong's artistic director Rupert Goold which investigates the legacy of 9/11.

On 11th September, 2001, New York lived through a day, which supposedly changed the world forever. Everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. 9/11 was the first global event in the age of the internet and its fallout is felt daily by people on every continent. Ten years on, Headlong, along with a team of major writers and thinkers, explore our responses to the defining event of our times. Full information on writers and casting will be announced shortly.

Conceived and developed by Rupert Goold with Robert Icke and presented in association with Chichester Festival Theatre, Decade will be performed at St Katharine Docks next to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

A statement from Headlong says, "We’re turning a disused office building into an immersive theatrical experience, taking you from the tranquil setting of the River Thames to the bright blue skies of downtown Manhattan and beyond."

Decade runs at St Katharine Docks from 8th September (previews from 1st) and runs to 15th October. Tickets can be booked through the National Theatre box office on 020 7452 3000 or www.nationaltheatre.org.uk.
