Artists affiliated to Derby Theatre through its development programme In Good Company will showcase their work on a national platform at a number of festivals and events.

In Good Company associates Zoo Indigo and Jack A G Britton will present their work at Camden People’s Theatre from Wednesday until Friday, 11 to 13 May. It will be part of A Nation's Theatre Festival, a two-month festival celebrating theatre across the UK.

Zoo Indigo, an Anglo-German contemporary performance company based in Nottingham, will stage No Woman’s Land, the story of a brave woman’s journey at the end of World War II, walking more than 200 miles through the fractured landscape of Europe with her two young children and all her belongings.

Jack A G Britton will present 1.9, “a story which built, broke and remade a man who climbs bravely into his memories traversing the cityscapes of his hometown who attempts to recapture the feelings first felt when taking his leap of faith into parkour”.

On Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 May, In Good Company associate companies and artists will spend time in London at the All Tomorrow’s Theatre event at Battersea Arts Centre. The event will also include work in progress from a selection of artists curated by Derby Theatre, ARC Stockton, National Theatre of Wales and Nuffield Theatre.

Present and former In Good Company associates will take to the stage including LaPelle’s Factory, Nafeesa Hamid, Maison Foo, Milk Presents and Nonsuch Theatre.

On Friday 27 May, as part of the annual Spark Children’s Arts Festival in Leicester—the largest children’s festival of its kind in England and Wales—In Good Company associate artists PAD Productions and Egg Box Theatre will talk about their work and share their current productions for young audiences.

In Good Company creative producer Ruby Glaskin said, “it’s really exciting that In Good Company is really gathering momentum and is building strong national links with like-minded organisations. I’m looking forward to seeing our associate artists flourish on a national platform and shine a spotlight on the diversity of work being made in our region.”

Glaskin has received a grant from the British Council and the Arts Council’s artist international development fund to undertake a two-week research and development period in New York exploring different approaches to artist development. It will culminate in four days of planning with New York-based producer Lucy Jackson and other artists to establish the groundwork for transatlantic artist development opportunities.
