Little Wolf Entertainment and Derby LIVE’s 2017 panto Beauty and the Beast won best staging and set at the Great British Pantomime Awards.

In the first year of the partnership between producers Little Wolf and Derby LIVE, the panto proved to be the most successful yet at Derby Arena, with more than 30,000 people seeing it including more than 13,000 children.

Beauty and the Beast was also nominated for best script, best special effects (for the Beast’s transformation) and best pantomime of the year (1,500+ seats).

On winning the award, Little Wolf Entertainment producer Morgan Brind who wrote and appeared in the panto said, “I’m excited and honoured that the work of everyone involved in our production of Beauty and the Beast at Derby Arena has been recognised in this way.

“My co-producer Alan Bowles and I both work throughout the year on creating the best show possible and it’s lovely to see work made here in Derby recognised on a national level.”

Lawrence Boothman, winner of the Best baddie award for his performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham in another Little Wolf production, Robin Hood at Loughborough Town Hall, is to appear in the 2018 panto at Derby Arena, Jack and the Beanstalk. It will run from Saturday 8 December until Saturday 5 January 2019.
