Dateline: 10th March, 2003 Are You a Disabled or Deaf Artist? A National Disability Arts Conference Consultation ProcessAre you a disabled or deaf artist? If so we need to hear your opinions. Shape, in partnership with the Arts Council, is conducting research for a National Disability Arts Conference to be potentially held as part of the European Year of Disabled People in 2003. We hope that the conference will provide support, information, debate and artistic exchange amongst deaf and disabled artists. Given that this conference will have national importance, we feel it is vital to consult widely as to the form, style and content of the event; the outcomes and appropriate learning and development opportunities for participants.
Shape and the Regional Arts Councils will be staging consultation meetings
within the Arts Council regions. We would like to invite you as a Disabled
or Deaf artist to attend and contribute to the planning Meetings will be held across England during March and early April, but if you are located in the South West or East Midlands please contact us for more details: 14 March Arts Council England, North West If you would like to attend a meeting please contact Shape Education & Training.
