Diverse Attractions

A company looking to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2003 could do much worse than play at Diverse Attractions, one of the warmest and most comfortable venues. Here's what Coordinator Alison Reeves has to say:

Diverse Attractions is a unique Fringe venue funded by the City of Edinburgh Council to provide an affordable, supportive and inclusive performance space for Edinburgh based artists. Too often, small local companies are prevented from performing at this prestigious event because of escalating costs and commercial artistic policy. We rent space and provide a full range of services to encourage these groups to gain the valuable experience of performing at the Fringe for themselves.

We are currently programming for the Fringe 2003 and would welcome applications from groups and individuals looking for an affordable, helpful and welcoming service, especially amateur and community work. Edinburgh companies are given priority in the booking process but we expect to programme up to 50% of our performers from outwith the Edinburgh area. We have two performance spaces which are rented by the week with technical, front of house, box office and marketing services included.

If you are a first time performer, an unfunded company, a community organisation or an artist who would benefit from our financial and practical support and advice and would like to participate in one of the world's largest arts festival, contact Alison Reeves for all the info and an application form. You can be a part of it!

The initial closing date for applications is 7th February, but applications may be received for available spaces after this date.
