Transmissions at The Lowry

Manchester-based writer, performance artist and intensive care specialist Dr Tuheen Huda returns to The Lowry Studio October 23-24 with his brand new show Transmissions.

Working with recovering addicts in Salford, Tuheen has gathered real-life stories and experiences of addiction alongside the testimonies of other health professionals and scientists to create a piece of theatre which attempts to change public opinion on the issue.

Transmissions has been Developed with The Lowry and will be performed as part of Manchester Science Festival.

Dr Huda left full-time medicine in 2011 to create two sell-out shows: What Am I Worth? (2012) and Pandamonium (2012/13), blending intimate, interactive performance style with his medical and scientific expertise.

He won the Library Theatre Company’s Pitch Party competition at The Lowry Studio in 2012 to develop his autobiographical solo show Pandamonium, which explored the themes of sexual addiction and family in the context of a gay Muslim’s life.
