The New Season at the Donmar
Michael Grandage, artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse, has announced
the theatre's new season which will run from July until February 2010.
First is Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire,
accompanied by two rehearsed readings of Williams other works.
This is followed by Pedro Calderon de la Barcas Life Is a Dream
in a new version by Helen Edmundson, and the season concludes with the
world première of Red by John Logan, directed by Michael
Grandage.
The Donmar continues to extend its work overseas. Mary
Stuart opens on Broadway this weekend, Frost/Nixon continues
its tour of the US, Parade
opens later this year in Los Angeles and Guys and Dolls is currently
running in Sydney. The Donmars production of Hamlet at
the Wyndhams Theatre transfers to Kronborg Castle, Elsinore in
Denmark and Piaf moves
to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
