Donmar Trafalgar Season
Details of the Donmar Trafalgar season at the Trafalgar Studios, which
the Donmar Warehouse will be using for the next three years to showcase
the work of graduates from its Resident Assistant Director (RAD) scheme,
have been announced.
There will be three productions in the season:
30 September - 23 October
Lower Ninth
A new play by Beau Willimon
Directed by Charlotte Westenra, the cast is Richie Campbell, Ray Fearon
and Anthony Welsh
In New Orleanss Lower Ninth district two African Americans,
Malcom and E-Z, find themselves stranded on a rooftop waiting for
rescue. Their city has been devastated, their worldly possessions
swept away and the body of their young friend lies before them.
28 October - 20 November
Novecento

In 1900 on board a great Atlantic cruise liner, Novecento was born.
He became the greatest jazz musician the world would never know. For
six years before World War II, Tim Tooney played trumpet with him
and Novecento gave him his story...

When Michael declares his love for a girl, his devoted mother burns
with jealousy while his father is shocked to discover that his son's
lover is someone he knows only too well.
The RAD scheme has been running at the Donmar for over fifteen years
and, during that time, it has produced directors including Sam Buntrock,
Toby Frow, Rupert Goold, Josie Rourke and Sacha Wares.
It is widely regarded as the most prestigious training programme for
young directors in the country.
