Redundancies at Inverness The Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, has announced that more than sixty of its staff are to be made redundant whilst the theatre undergoes an eighteen months £18m refit. They will then be expected to re-apply for their jobs. Thirty full-time and six part-time jobs will not be affected. Most of the redundancies are of 41 jobs without fixed hours, but will also include eight full-time and thirteen part-time posts. BECTU has not ruled out the possibility of strike action over the redundancies. The union's national officer Willie Donaghy told the Scotsman, "Having to reapply for their jobs is a kick in the teeth for these loyal workers and I dont think its acceptable."
