Midnight Cowboy on the Fringe The Assembly Rooms is to present the world premiere of the stage version of the 1969 film Midnight Cowboy. Adapted by Tim Fountain, it will play in the George Street venue's Music Hall from 7th to 27th August, previewing from 4th. Fontain's version, which is based on the original novel by James Leo Herlihy and the MGM film, will be directed by John Clancy (see our interview) and will star Con O’Neil as Enrico (the Dustin Hoffman part) and Charles Aitkin as Joe Buck (Jon Voight in the film). Also in the cast are Emma Kennedy, Sam Crane, Victoria Lennox and Nancy Walsh. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
