2008 EIF Award Winner The winner of the 2008 Edinburgh International Festival Award at this year's Fringe has been announced. The award gives the winner £5,000 to develop a new workshop project for next year's International Festival and is given to the company which most impresses the judges for its potential. The 2008 winner is Belt Up (Nothing to See/Hear), a student company from York, which completely took over a space in C Central, named the Red Room and set it up in the style of Victorian burlesque, and produced a variety of pieces, including The Tartuffe and Volpone, as well as The Park Keeper, Womne of Troy and promenade productions of Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. Last year's winner was John Clancy and his Captain Overlord's Folly, or The Fool's Revenge received a workshop production at The Hub during this year's International Festival.
