Reality TV finalists at George Square

Niamh Perry (finalist in I'd Do Anything) and Keith Jack (runner up in Any Dream Will Do) will appear in a new musical, Only the Brave, at the George Square Theatre (which this year is presenting music theatre only) from 31st July to 25th August.

Set during the Second World War, the play has music by Matthew Brind and lyrics by Brind and Stephen Coleman. Coleman also wrote the book with Rachel Wagstaff.

Lasting for one and a quarter hours, it starts at 6.15pm.

Pip Utton

One-Man War of the Worlds

Fringe favourite Pip Utton (Adolf, Bacon and Chaplin among others) has a new and surprising show this year. He has the rights to produce a one-man version of Jeff Wayne's concept album The War of the Worlds with all the music and two of the songs, which he will perform at the Underbelly's Baby Belly in The Caves in Niddry Street South. Describing it as "something completely different and maybe a little foolhardy", he told the BTG, "I am very excited but very fearful of not getting it right. It could be a big hit and it could be a massive flop. But at least it'll be a challenge."

It runs from 31st July to 24th August, starts at 4.20pm and lasts an hour.
