€5.5m Legacy for EIF Lean Scully, an Irish woman who was a regular at Edinburgh International Festival Usher Hall concerts for the last ten years, has left the Festival €5.5m (£3.7m) to be invested in a trust fund (which will bring in £150,000 a year) to help emerging young artistes. "This is the type of bequest arts organisations dream about," Brian McMaster, the outgoing artistic director of the EIF said. "Lean's been a regular visitor to the festival for the last 10 years. She was very passionate about the arts. "She left us the residue of her estate, after gifts to friends, which is two Dublin homes. Of course, property values in Dublin have rocketed over the past few years, so the homes were worth quite a lot of money." The 72 year old, who died last year, was a prioneer of public relations in Ireland and ran her own company, Lean Scully PR, in Dublin. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
