Equity Sub Rep 0.5% Increase Equity has accepted an interim rise of 0.5% (£1.75 a week) in 2009/2010 for performers and stage managers in subsidised rep. The union had been trying to negotiate a 14.9% increase for all members working outside of the West End and hegotiationd with the Theatrical Manageent Association continue. Richard Pulford, chief executive of the TMA, said, "It is not very difficult to understand. In the present climate with subsidy under very severe threat they found it very difficult." Equity has written to members explaining the reasoning behind accepting the interim increase which is accompanied by a " minor clarification relating to final dress rehearsal." To do otherwise, it says, would be to risk a pay freeze. Now the union will "consult with members in order to determine the next step in relation to the Equity claim."
