Everyman in the TV spotlight

Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre takes centre stage on Monday night in a half-hour film which is part of the BBC’s On Stage season.

The documentary on BBC One will go behind the scenes to find out how it is faring in testing economic times.

Famous Everyman alumni, including Alison Steadman, Jonathan Pryce, Bernard Hill and Matthew Kelly, are interviewed about their early years at the Everyman. Narration is provided by Liverpool-born actor David Morrissey, who started his acting career at the Everyman’s youth theatre.

Viewers also get a glimpse into the making of poet Simon Armitage’s recent adaptation of The Odyssey before it transferred to The Globe in London.
