"Fake Photo" Play for the Bush

Just before deadline, a controversial photo of a topless children’s TV presenter mysteriously arrives a national tabloid newspaper - questions have to be asked.

Who sent it? Why? What are the legal implications? Will it sell more papers? Is this sensational photo really all it seems?

Publishing the photo poses a moral conundrum, dragging out into the open deceit, lies and a darker secret that must not be revealed at any cost.

Is what interests the public necessarily ‘in the public interest’?

At a time when the authenticity of published photographs is creating headlines and news around the world, The Bush Theatre presents the World Premiere of Steve Thompson’s Damages, directed by Roxana Silbert – a play of ‘Fact or Fake’ photos, hungry hacks, suicidal sub-editors, sharp lawyers and moral mazes.

Featuring Paul Albertson, John Bett, Amanda Drew and Phil McKee, the play opens on 4th June (previews from 2nd) and runs until 3rd July.
