“Fairies, Romans and a whole host of madness”: Drake’s Drummers’ Shakespeare’s Avengers Assembleth: Age of Oberon is one of the latest Buxton Fringe entries

Buxton Festival Fringe is gearing up for the final deadline for performers, with almost 100 events already signed up for the 2016 event.

Latest entries include Little Glimpses with its motherhood-themed show Nipple Tassles and Nursing Bras and Rusted Dust with its Cold War thriller The Communist Threat. WildeWolfe Productions will shine a light on Mrs Oscar Wilde and Drake’s Drummers imagines the kidnapping of the fairy king in Shakespeare’s Avengers Assembleth: Age of Oberon which had its debut at Edinburgh Fringe 2015.

Buxton Fringe chair Keith Savage said, “this Fringe is the last time we’ll have events in the Old Hall Hotel’s Pauper’s Pit theatre and it’s with mixed feelings of excitement and regret that we see the programme for July filling out.”

The deadline for acts to be included in the printed programme is Sunday 17 April. The Fringe will run from Wednesday 6 until Sunday 24 July.
