World Premiere Musical at the White Bear Footsteps to the Moon, a new musical by Paul Prescott and Rod Anderson, is to get its world premiere at the White Bear Theatre from March 22 - April 9. Opening night is Wednesday March 23 at 7.30pm. Through 22 songs, Footsteps to the Moon takes a powerful look at the horror of war, mankind's continued inhumanity towards itself and the undying dream of hope for a better tomorrow. The city of Bastion lies devastated by the ongoing "Decade War". The once-proud city's wasted boulevards still echo to a seemingly never-ending bombardment of shell and rocket fire, its alleyways fought over hand-to-hand by both enemy and inhabitants alike as they struggle for food and shelter. Among the twisted girders and rubble of what had been the city's mental asylum a group of survivors struggle to make sense of things in the deep cellars of what was once their prison. Each has found their own way to deal with the horrors that are now part of their daily lives...
A group of seemingly ordinary people facing an extraordinary situation. Together they experience love and laughter, triumph and betrayal. And there's redemption... at least for some of them. Author Paul Prescott and composer Rod Anderson have created eleven musicals together. Paul's most recent work was the Dusty Springfield biography, Dusty The Musical, which successsfuly toured the UK. Rod was responsible for composing the original music for the current West End sell-out production of Round the Horne...Revisited.
