Friel's Fathers and Sons at the Donmar Warehouse

The Donmar Warehouse has announced the full cast for Fathers and Sons.

The play is by Brian Friel, after the novel by Ivan Turgenev, and it will be directed by Olivier Award-winner Lyndsey Turner. The designer is Rob Howell and music is composed by Alex Baranowski.

Fathers and Sons looks at the uneasiness of clashing generations, a new world in conflict with the old and the difficulty of staying radical as you move through life.

Evening Standard Best Newcomer Award–winner Seth Numrich stars as Bazarov and he is joined by Caoilfhionn Dunne, a nominee for the same award.

Alongside Seth Numrich, Lindy Whiteford, Phoebe Sparrow, Siobhán McSweeney, Jack McMullen, Karl Johnson, David Fielder and Joshua James ;make their Donmar débuts in Fathers and Sons.

Anthony Calf plays Nikolai and his recent credits include Stephen Ward The Musical and Elaine Cassidy, playing Anna, is well known for her screen work, having appeared in two series of the BBC's The Paradise.

Susan Engel (Princess Olga) recently appeared in Lyndsey Turner’s production of Candide at the RSC Swan Theatre. Tim McMullan's most recent stage role was as Angus in Chichester Festival Theatre’s Neville’s Island and he takes the role of Pavel.

Fathers And Sons starts previewing on 5 June. Captioned and audio described performances have been programmed.
