The Second Fringe Firsts

The Scotsman Fringe First Awards are aimed at encouraging new work to appear at the Fringe. Eligible works must be completely new or to be performed in the UK for the first time at the Fringe and are selected by the Scotsman’s reviews team. Some half-dozen or so are given in each of the three weeks.

The second week's winners are:

  • Hangman by German company DO-Theatre (Assembly Aurora Nova)
  • The Smile Off Your Face by Belgian company Ontroerend Goed (C soco)
  • Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea by 1927 Theatre Company (Underbelly)
  • Popsicle Departure 1989, written and performed by Madi Distefano (Assembly @ St George's West)
  • Emergen-see! by Daniel Beaty (Assembly @ St George's West)
  • Ravenhill For Breakfast by Mark Ravenhill (Traverse)
