Full cast revealed for Gatiss’s A Christmas Carol

Christopher Godwin will play the narrator
Sarah Ridgeway will take the role of Mrs Cratchit

The full cast has been revealed for Mark Gatiss’s new adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol which will open at Nottingham Playhouse before transferring to London’s Alexandra Palace.

Gatiss will play Jacob Marley and it has already been announced that Nicholas Farrell will play Scrooge.

James Backway will play Fred, Angelina Chudi is Caroline, Jo Eaton-Kent is the Ghost of Christmas Past and Zak Ford-Williams plays Tiny Tim.

Aoife Gaston takes the role of Belle, Christopher Godwin is the narrator, Edward Harrison will be Bob Cratchit, Sarah Ridgeway plays Mrs Cratchit and Joe Shire will be the Ghost of Christmas Present.

A Christmas Carol is the latest collaboration between Gatiss and Nottingham Playhouse artistic director Adam Penford who worked on Alan Bennett’s The Madness of George III in 2018.

A Christmas Carol will run at Nottingham Playhouse from Friday 29 October until Saturday 29 November. It then moves to Alexandra Palace from Friday 26 November until Sunday 9 January 2022.
