Families with young children should check out the programme at Wilton’s Music Hall.
A fun-packed autumn lies ahead starting with two days of free family events in the third of a series of festivals, Gateway to the World.
This year, the festival is themed on the impact of trade and immigration and includes dance, drama and musical performances from local school and community groups alongside professional magicians, acrobats and puppeteers, and craft events.
In November, Chickenshed Theatre will be presenting Tales from the Shed, an interactive show for under-sixes using songs and puppets and early December sees the arrival of Mother Goose; the classic story has been adapted by Roy Hudd who will play Dame again this year.
Other events for young audiences include Little Big Sing, baby and toddler workshops run by the Royal Opera House, whilst for young playwrights Wilton’s has launched a new Young Writers Group offering free workshops for 16-25 year olds.
