Gareth Hunt Dies Actor Gareth Hunt, best known for his performance as "enforcer" Mike Gambit in the 70s TV series New Avengers, has died at the age of 65. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer for two years but continued working until the end of 2006. His TV work included Doctor Who, Upstairs Downstairs, EastEnders, Night And Day, Doctors and New Tricks, but he also had a stage career. He worked at the RSC, the Royal Court, the National Theatre, the Bristol Old Vic and in the West End, as well as a number of touring productions. He leaves a wife and two sons.
